In addition to her work as an EP, Sharon has also worked as a primary school teacher and as a SENCo. In these roles, she supported staff in overcoming barriers to learning and in sustaining effective teaching and learning.

As an experienced educational professional, I am passionate about promoting social justice through education. I have over 20 years of experience in the education sector, including 11 years as a Senior Leader in the role of SENCo, where I successfully managed and mentored teams of support staff, SENCos and early career teachers. I have consistently demonstrated my leadership skills in diverse educational settings, including primary, secondary, mainstream and specialist schools.
My expertise is not just theoretical but has been proven in practice. I have designed a comprehensive TA development model and an effective home-school partnership model. I have also successfully co-created interventions in schools with subject leaders, all of which have had a significant positive impact on learners with additional needs.
My passion for creating a more inclusive and socially just society drives my focus on gender injustice in the provision for autistic girls in the UK education system. Pursuing a second master's degree has given me the opportunity to delve deeper into this issue and find solutions. I have shared my expertise in SEND leadership and wellbeing through speeches at national conferences, inspiring others to join me in working towards a better future where everyone has access to equal opportunities.
My unique combination of experience as an educational professional, researcher and parent advocate has provided me with a deep understanding of the challenges that create inequality. I am confident that my knowledge, combined with my passion and dedication, enables me to create effective provisions and deliver training that makes a meaningful difference. I look forward to working with you to create a more equitable and just society for everyone.
